  • It has been a while...

I'm not in a mindset to do an organized post, so I'm just going to go ahead and do a scattered update. :P

I got a job as a part time nanny, which has been really good for me. I have two kids ages five and one (almost two). I believe it has exercised my patience greatly and given me a greater appreciation for the joy in simplicity. Also I have really seen in a very big way how consistently an steadily showing love, even when you are not getting the same in return, can make a world of difference. It's pretty awesome. Today, after taking Asa to preschool, Kendall and I were walking inside and she discovered an icicle hanging from the mail box...she thought it was the funniest thing! It was prett y cute.

I applied and was accepted for IPS (Institute of Photographic Studies) I'll be going to Florida in January! A few days before I head for Florida, Dad and I are flying to Arizona for Erin's wedding!! Dad will be walking her down the isle.

Wow. Now I can't think of anything to say...it probably has something to do with the fact that in the past two days I've gotten two hours of sleep...so when I have slept some and can think more straightly I'll finish this update :P

    Hope you xagaers are well!

    Blessings

Today has been really, really nice. I woke up pretty early took a shower and got ready to go to the spa at Christina’s with Magdalen. We both got pedicures…Magdalen’s birthday gift to me. J I got a fun, bright red color. I’m pretty sure that the chic who gave me the pedicure was a lesbian…so that was kind of unnerving…but besides that, it was nice. Later on in the afternoon Magdalen and I went to Best Buy to get stuff for her camera. Such as a charger, a memory card, and a memory card reader. Then we went next door to Barnes & Noble to study. I ended up buying some books and a new CD instead of studying…go figure. :P We got some Starbucks there as well…but it didn’t taste like real Starbucks…this evening I have been able to relax in my room with my pumpkin spiced candles, a couple of good novels, good music, warm apple cake, and some hot tea. For me…that’s my definition of a perfect autumn evening. Liz and Hope came in and out every once in a while to talk or play cards. J

I feel really blessed. I am very content with the way a lot of things are going in my life right now…but I am still desiring to become more like Christ and I pray that I will decrease and He will increase. It’s a big process…because when pride is involved it makes it somewhat…painful…I will be the first to admit (sadly) that I am not the most humble person…I just pray that God, in his mercy and grace, would change me into all that I can be for Him.

I can just hardly believe how much my four youngest siblings have grown up! I mean, this evening at dinner I was watching Daniel…he just…got huge, and so fast! He eats as much as Dad does. Joseph…geez! Seems like last time he gave me a hug his arms went around my legs…he gave me a hug today and his arms went around my shoulders….what!? Sarah Jean…she’s taller than me by a good two inches! When did that happen!? Hopey is like a little woman now. She has a lot of wisdom as well as funny quirks. It’s crazy.

I’m going to go into hiding…I’m sick, I would like to read some more, and Hope and Sarah’s friends are coming over after a school football game…

Umm…side note…Liz just brought me some chocolate and I don’t know if chocolate has tasted this good to me in a looong time!...The End

    Autumn

Ding…ding…ding goes the big Court house bell. Across the street from it, I listen…seven times it resounds, loudly reminding the city of the time. For some it means bed time, for others it is a haunting reminder of their years quickly passing by and the approach of death nearing. For the flock of birds nested on the Court house roof, it is a reminder of the journey south that they must make in order to survive. An excitement inside of me that has been fast asleep for so long is abruptly awaken as the birds take flight, calling for their friends and family to join them on their long journey…just as the birds disappear from sight, the last “ding” of the bell transpires. In the unusual quietness of this small city the whispering wind can be heard. The colorful aged leaves that witness every bit of each day are released from their branches along with their acquired knowledge of the city; they are hurried along by this wind of change. Next year new leaves will emerge in their innocence, and they also will learn of this place, and its people. Autumn; it is a beautiful season of death and the hope of new life.

  • The Truth comes out... :P

    Hey Xanga folks

well...I haven't been on xanga because I started another blog somewhere else...not because I don't love xanga...but because so many people have this one...like people I don't know at all...and a huge reason I like to write is just to get my thoughts out and well...ya know....but I haven't really been able to do that for a real long time. so now I have a private blog, and I'm able to do that. :) But not saying I don't get on xanga...cause i do. :) So that is the reason that I haven't been posting much.

The past few days I've spent with Magdalen. We've either been going to Panara or Starbucks to study, then we stay there anywhere from four to eight hours. One of the other mornings we were at Panara and the day wasn't going to well for me, then when we got there my internet wouldn't work and I had stuff I needed to be looking stuff up. It was a very nippy morning, so I got a refill on my hazelnut coffee, grabbed my ipod and told Mag I'd be back in a while. I walked across the pedestrian bridge, there was still fog lingering over the river and the sun was slowly making its way through the trees. I stopped and watched an old man fishing a ways down the river, then I just sat on one of the cold benches and finished the last of my hot coffee and listened to some very “chill” music. About two hours later I made my way back to Panara and was a much happier person. Guess what else…the internet started working :)

I’m gonna go help Sarah Jean with something now, hope you’re all well!

    -Maria

About Me

  • The Davey family name has been around for a long time, but this blog deals specifically with the 'new breed' of Daveys. Their story begins in 1979, when Thomas Davey and Marcia Brown were wed. Throughout the following years, the two stuck together through thick and thin and created 13 amazing children - each one as gorgeous and intelligent as his or her parents. Today, though the Davey family is scattered around the globe, they remain connected by the bonds created during long, cramped van rides and each of the many feasts held round the sturdy Amish table.
